Meet Erin Hasler
MEET THE MUSE: Erin Hasler ~ founder and creative genius of Ija Jewelry Designs (now a part of Nashelle), triathlete, cancer survivor and our total style muse.
What is your idea of perfect happiness?
My idea of perfect happiness is a Sunday afternoon playing in the backyard with my family. Listening to the wind rustle through the leaves, the birds sing, my children giggle and having nowhere else to be.
My greatest fear is that my cancer will return and my children may have to grow up without their Mother.
What has been your greatest life lesson?
Gratitude. Hands down. I’ve had a few moments in life that have helped solidify my perspective and each time I find that when I focus on how blessed I am everything else drops away.
What talent would you most like to have?
Hmm, I would love to be a sassy musician who can play the guitar, but alas, it’s not in the cards for me.
What is the trait you are most grateful for in yourself?
My kindness. When I was younger I saw it as a fault, and felt that perhaps I was too sensitive or passive but as I’ve grown older I’ve found myself grounded in knowing who I am, authentically. I love to love.
Kindness. I truly think we could change the world if everyone was more aware of their actions on others and saw each other as beloveds.
Where do you look for inspiration in your daily life?
Everywhere. I’m inspired by everything around me: nature, books, music, art and my family and friends.
What makes your heart beat?
My family. I feel so truly blessed to be surrounded by the most amazing people who love me unconditionally and make me laugh everyday.
What is your motto?
What is your definition of style?
Style is one’s ability to express their inner self through the use of their outer appearance. I think that is one of our greatest gifts as humans. Style is living, breathing art that is ever evolving. I love that.
Who are your style muses?
Real women. I am an avid people watcher and am constantly inspired by the creativity and thoughtfulness of other women’s fashion sense.
I think so, I see fashion as being told what to wear, what’s “in” at the moment. Style comes from your soul, it’s a part of your being and unique to each individual.
What is your most treasured fashion item?
My Monique Lhuillier wedding dress. I blew almost my entire wedding budget on it, but the second I put it on I knew. I felt like a goddess for a day, and really; isn’t that what fashion is all about?
What is one accessory every woman should have?
Every woman should have a pair of perfect, gold hoops. The perfect hoops elevate any look and help me feel put together. I don’t leave home without them
What are you coveting at this very moment?
Big, boxy, black reading glasses a la Steve Urkel. I know they were super trendy but I’ve been coveting them for years. There’s something so sexy about a woman in glasses.
- A piece of jewelry made by a loved one. My most cherished pieces are made by my children.
- A family heirloom that brings back childhood memories.
- A delicate necklace that you can leave on for days. Preferably with a little sparkle.
- The more the merrier. It’s absurd how many rings I can stack on my fingers.
- The perfect gold hoops.
Thank you for the inspiration! xo, muse
