Meet Cassondra Schindler
Meet the Muse: Cassondra Schindler ~ social media strategist, community connector
Where and when are you most inspired?
Out of doors, in movement, listening to others stories. A combination of the three is bliss.
What are you most passionate about?
What change would you like to see in the world?
I look forward to the day when we decide to tap into the collective knowledge and wealth that surrounds us to solve global problems. As an optimist, I can’t shake the feeling that collectively, we have everything we need.
Tell us about your work:
I create opportunities for people to connect and participate in community endeavors, online and on the ground. My work is expressed in a variety of ways–from creating community forums to working with mission-driven businesses and individuals to develop their communications, strengthen their connections and expand their reach.
How/why were you called to this work?
An innate belief that creative solutions come from new connections has fueled a lifelong curiosity. Simply put, I’ve combined an interest in learning about people by creating forums for their participation. In doing so new communities are created often leading to conversation, growth and positive change.
What has been the greatest challenge in your work?
Patience. Let me explain…with boundless curiosity and a love for variety, I find it challenging to stay focused on one thing and tend to involve myself in a number of pursuits. Seeking integration, I have a strong desire to connect all of the dots though sometimes it takes awhile for all of those dots to connect. Therefore patience.
What is your advice to young women who want to do what you do?
Follow your curiosity, be true to you and align yourself with causes, projects and people that ignite your passion. This will always take you where you need to be.
What 4 words would you tell your teenage self?
Happiness comes from your actions – (sorry to have to break the rules but teenage me needed to hear that).
What has been your greatest lesson?
Forgiveness is one of the requirements of love. And, love is everything.
If you had the world’s attention, what would you say?
My first instinct would be to pass the mic to the collective voice. But I’m working on being brave (always) so here is what I’d say:
Meaningful conversations change the world. Let’s find more and more ways to make them happen.
What is your personal motto or mantra?
Today’s mantra: Practice until you become it and it becomes you.
And my 2016 hashtag #teamworktomakethedreamwork
Thank you for the inspiration. xo, muse
